Digital equity is a relatively new term. However, its implications are broader than the more specific digital divide. This presentation will define digital equity and show how it interacts with the digital divide, digital inclusion, and above all, community development.
A nationally recognized expert in the environmental and infrastructure fields, Eric Beightel brings more than 20 years of experience to the Permitting Council. Beightel’s extensive public and private sector experience honed his command of the National Environmental Policy Act and his capacity for solving complex environmental permitting problems on the local, state and national level.
White House Roundtable on Protecting Americans from Harmful Data Broker Practices
The White House convened a roundtable with civil society leaders, researchers, and policymakers on how the data broker industry monetizes personal information and actions the Biden Administration is taking to address potential harms to American consumers. The session was hosted by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the National Economic Council, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission, and the Department of Justice.
This initiative aims to promote enrollment in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to residents in approximately 22 cities across 18 states and the District of Columbia.
