The inaugural Florida Broadband Summit will bring together industry leaders, local government officials, workforce and economic development professionals, and community advocates to discuss the expansion of broadband and its impact on infrastructure, business, and job growth in Florida.

The Federal Communications Commission’s Connect2HealthFCC Task Force will host a virtual webinar to demonstrate the newly updated Mapping Broadband Health in America platform incorporating maternal health data. The platform is designed to help drive innovative broadband-enabled solutions such as telehealth in areas impacted by poor maternal health outcomes, including higher maternal mortality or severe maternal morbidity.

Information Policy Award: Representative Yvette Clarke
A workshop for Tribal governments, Tribal employees, and Tribal members designed to provide information that will help Tribal Nations identify and evaluate opportunities to develop more robust broadband infrastructure and services in Tribal communities. The workshop is also designed to provide information about FCC policies and programs to address the lack of adequate communications services on Tribal lands nationwide.
INCOMPAS President Angie Kronenberg and Brattle Group Principal Paroma Sanyal will discuss the economics of reforming the Universal Service Fund’s contribution mechanism. They will provide an overview of the current system and then dive into a new economic report that highlights the most efficient ways to reform the program and discuss why proposed suggestions to include tech companies will result in market distortion and potentially raise prices on consumers.

Digital Connectivity and Lifeline Awareness Week (formerly named Lifeline Awareness Week) is an annual outreach event that takes place the first full week after Labor Day in partnership with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA). The week is designed to both raise awareness of and increase participation in Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
