AT&T and Indiana Plan to Deliver Fiber to Parts of Nine Counties

The state of Indiana and AT&T are collaborating on a plan to bring a fiber network to nearly 6,100 homes, businesses and farms in parts of nine Indiana counties. The $13 million project is contingent upon a final contract between the state of Indiana and AT&T. Extensive design and engineering work will begin immediately following the execution of a final agreement between AT&T and the state. AT&T is also currently working with both Vanderburgh County and the City of Boonville (IN) to bring AT&T Fiber to those communities through public-private partnerships.

FirstNet Expands Across Navajo Nation

Navajo Nation first responders are getting a major boost in their wireless communications thanks to the FirstNet network expansion currently underway by AT&T. In addition to constructing new, purpose-built FirstNet sites where first responders said they needed improved coverage, AT&T is collaborating with Commnet Broadband, NTUA, NTUA Wireless, and the Navajo Nation Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to help build out additional Band 14 spectrum and AT&T commercial LTE spectrum bands across more than 100 sites.

AT&T Plans for Fiber-Powered Internet Access in Amarillo, Texas

The city of Amarillo (TX) announced a $24 million project with AT&T to build its fiber network to more than 22,000 customer locations throughout the city. The project proposes providing access to AT&T Fiber for homes, businesses and government agencies in the city center. The project is contingent upon funding approval by the city of Amarillo and a final contract between AT&T and the city. Extensive planning and engineering work will begin immediately upon execution of the contract.

AT&T and DISH Announce Internet Distribution Agreement

AT&T and DISH have entered into a distribution agreement that will allow DISH to offer AT&T Internet services, including AT&T Fiber with Hyper-Gig speeds, to prospective, new and existing DISH customers starting May 18, 2022. Telecompetitor reports that the DISH deal is for AT&T home internet services, including AT&T Fiber. It does not include AT&T wireless services.
