The 22 amendments to the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act that senators agreed upon before recess may not all get a vote, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), one of the bill’s cosponsors, said.

The next few months of the Senate’s time will largely be taken up by de¬bate over ap¬pro¬pri¬ations and Pres¬id¬ent Obama’s nuc¬le¬ar deal with Ir¬an, leav¬ing little time for the cy¬ber¬se¬cur¬ity bill and the bevy of pro¬posed amend¬ments that will go along with it. To make room for de¬bate on the in¬form¬a¬tion-shar¬ing bill, some of the amend-ments may not get a vote, said Sen Feinstein. “I don’t know if there will be 22 amendments,” she said. “Everything changes week to week. I’m more concerned with get¬ting the bill up, trying to get it passed, get¬ting it conferenced, and then get¬ting the conference report approved.” “A shorter debate means fewer amendments, because you have to complete the debate,” Sen Feinstein added. She said she did not know which amendments may not get voted on.
