Space 2.0: The Intersection of Space Policy and the FCC

Hudson Institute

Thursday, November 8, 2018 - 5:30pm to 6:50pm

A discussion with Ajit Pai, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, on the FCC's strategy for advancing America’s role in the new space age.

Chairman Pai will discuss the intersection of space policy and the FCC’s efforts to promote new technologies that can strengthen the nation’s communications infrastructure. While normally not thought of as in the purview of the FCC, the agency is exploring new and better ways to enable satellite systems in low earth orbit and other space-based technologies to close the digital divide and promote innovation. The conversation will also include NASA Associate Administrator Thomas Cremins and will be moderated by Hudson Senior Fellow Harold Furchtgott-Roth.
