The FCC is developing more accurate and comprehensive information on broadband data speeds throughout the United States. The Omnibus Broadband Initiative previously announced a proposal to undertake an effort to measure performance rates for fixed Internet broadband service, and sought comment on a proposed methodology.

FCC staff from the Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau and the Office of Engineering and Technology will hold the second in a series of open meetings with subject experts and service providers to discuss technical methods for performance testing of residential fixed Internet service and procedures to remotely acquire and analyze such data.

Parties who are interested in attending or would like further information may call James Miller at 202-418-7351 or via email at James.Miller@fcc.gov . Seating is limited.
