On the date the National Broadband Plan was originally due to Congress, public interest groups will hold a press event to call on the Federal Communications Commission to ensure that the plan, now due March 17, contains a set of bold, practical goals and policy recommendations. The groups will outline specific recommendations backed by a strong, diverse coalition of public interest groups, and that must be in the plan if it is to succeed in improving U.S. broadband access and adoption.

Speakers:

  • Mark Cooper, Consumer Federation of America
  • Parul Desai, Media Access Project

  • Joel Kelsey, Consumers Union
  • Benjamin Lennett, New America Foundation's Open Technology Initiative
